Patriotic Songs

A couple of weeks ago I was at an intersection waiting for the light to change and there were some white people hanging around the intersection trying to get you to vote for them for some public office. They had lawn chairs at the intersection and the fabric parts were American Flag print.
Now I ain't some flag-waving mouth breather who gets in the Living section of the paper for trying to marry an American Flag, but I think sitting your ass on the flag is a might disrespectful. So as the light turned green I yelled "respect Old Glory!" out the window, took a swig of whiskey, and continued on my way to the Church of Satan.

Jeffrey, Hollywood has been good for you methinks. Your pen seems refreshed and invigorated. A capitol effort, old bean.
And of course your rhymes are fresh as always.
whatever happened to vermont pete?
Shheeeaaattt Jeffrey, I sure hope you hit 'record' before bustin out them dope rhymes. Send me a copy when you're done. I can't count the amount of times that I had conversations with Americans and they said "these colours don't run". Now I know why. It's good to see some people believe that the metric system isn't evil.
If this album dropped for real I would buy it.
Actually, it is illegal to use the flag or a representation of it as clothing or other.
I find it odd that whenever I see a bumper sticker with the American flag on it that says "These colors don't run," the colors on the sticker have faded.
Not exactly good advertisement.
They taught us all about flag etiquette in the Boy Scouts. There are so many things that people do with the American flag that are not in the Boy Scout Handbook, it's actually kinda funny.
How you are supposed to treat the American Flag
Ah, yes, the american way of live. Self Righteousness and Obesity for all.
No, the metric system is not evil... it's French. I think the "Freedom system" has a nice ring to it, don't you?

(c) Nothing in this section shall be construed as indicating an intent on the part of Congress to deprive any State, territory, possession, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico of jurisdiction over any offense over which it would have jurisdiction in the absence of this section.
(d)
(1) An appeal may be taken directly to the Supreme Court of the United States from any interlocutory or final judgment, decree, or order issued by a United States district court ruling upon the constitutionality of subsection (a).
(2) The Supreme Court shall, if it has not previously ruled on the question, accept jurisdiction over the appeal and advance on the docket and expedite to the greatest extent possible.
I've always enjoyed that flag burning is categorized with "flag desecration" which means that technically if you got booked for flag burning then they would really need to prosecute every single person who bought an Old Navy Flag Shirt in order to be fair.
Is that seriously a motto? "These colors don't run"? How embarrassing. How Wal-Mart. Yay America.
i agree with you all, we shouldnt allow the desecration of the flag in any form. so i am hereby heading for the beach and snatching any flag-themed bikini top and running like crazy. i am counting on you all to bail me out.
I always thought it was funny that whenever you see folks hanging their flags vertically, they always put the blue spot in the upper-left hand corner. However, when hanging the flag vertically, you are supposed to take it as if hanging it horizontal, and then rotate it 90 degrees clockwise. To if you unrotate their flags, they're hanging upside-down...the symbol for distress or surrender! It was so awful seeing everyone on my campus doing that immediately after 9/11...
Wonder Woman, your star spangled ass is so busted. Also Captain America and Kurt Angle.
The Supreme Court said that the law banning flag burning was unconstitutional; that's why they keep talking about flag-burning amendments. In the meantime, the first amendment still applies; we can still burn flags and worship or offend whichever gods we want.
Also, can we please get away from the self-satisfied notion that glib comments of any kind are ever high patriotism? Talk about setting low standards! Gandhi, King, Tillman and Washington could get away with calling themselves serious patriots, but us? We're just noisy. If you want to show that you're serious, then join the Army Corps or the Peace Corps, not the fucking "blogosphere".
