To be fair, it's honestly hard to tell who's more detestable -- Joe Francis or the girls who are dumb and drunk enough to make "Girls Gone Wild" the enormous success that it is.
Anyway, people shouldn't be allowed to act like this, it doesn't matter if they actually get to hang out with Paris Hilton.
This is actually about the 5th version of this comic which is why it took so long to update. Gotta start simplifyin' a bit.

I have seen one GGW video in my life. It disturbed me pretty profoundly. I mean, I've watched my fair share of porn. Not gonna lie. And yeah, porn by nature is somewhat exploitative of women. But there's a difference between your standard porno, where at least the woman is sober and getting paid if nothing else, and the sick shit that Joe Francis does. Watching girls who are so obviously and visibly drunk that they are almost passing out on camera does not turn me on. It's fucking sick.

I have to tell you, I don't really see anything detestable about girls getting drunk and flashing some cameras. I've watched one GGW also, and it was the one with Snoop Dogg "Doggy Style." It entertained me greatly. But, not because of the Girls who were Going Wild. It was because Snoop Dogg was always there being well...Snoop Dogg.

I don't have any personal relationship with GGW, but I'll default to the reporters statements. It doesn't sound like the actual tapes/content is necessarily exploitative: the girl who says she was date raped is NOT complaining about the filming. She is complaining about Francis reportedly kicking out the camera and then having sex with her against her will.
Of course, that just commits me to not supporting him financially. I don't think you can say everyone who ever watches a GGW is evil though--maybe just not aware that their money is supporting a horrible person. Meanwhile, we all support oil & sweat shops no matter how careful we are with our purchases...

I guess I come at this from the perspective that you really can't blame the "girls" in the videos - Joe Francis seems the type that would (and does) take advantage of the unwilling if he didn't have anyone around dying to take her top off. The shocker is that the only reason he has power to do this is the money from people buying the videos. People are (albeit indirectly) paying him to "date" rape people.

GGW strikes me as un-sexy, but a symptom of the "15 minutes of fame" culture, not an actual problem in and of itself. After finally reading the article, I think we can safely say that Joe Francis is evil. And the horrible thing is, being evil doesn't look like very much fun. There's no one in that story I don't feel sorry for.
Joe Francis was a douchebag even back in 6th grade. He picked a fight with Kyvan Kiafar at lunch and it turned into a brawl cuz everyone hated Joe so much. We got our 6th grade trip to Disneyland canceled as a result. I've hated him ever since. True story.
I'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but If you look at the advertising banners at the top of Rowland's site, you've likely come across the ones for "suicide girls". I'm not sure if you sell your own advertisement or not Jeff, but if you do; How is this any less destestible than what is found in GGW videos?
